World Traditional Archery Federation (WTAF) Function

The new WTAF seeks to be the global leader in traditional archery, akin to the Olympic Movement. Its key goals are to 1) promote the values of traditional archery worldwide, 2) organise international competitions and educational programmes, 3) involve young people in preserving traditional cultures, 4) document and protect traditional archery as cultural heritage, and 5) foster international cooperation and sports diplomacy through traditional archery.

The Operational headquarters of the newly founded WTAF will be in Ulsan, South Korea, with international headquarters located in Lausanne, Switzerland.

UK-TAIA Functions and objectives

Kristina Dolgilevica (UK-TAIA) will serve as the official representative and a unified voice of UK traditional archers on the global stage. Notably, her role will include facilitating participation in global tournaments (Traditional Archery World Cup, Conquest Cup, World Nomad Games etc) and acting as the spokesperson and representative alongside the rest of the WTAF member nations in any relevant cultural and sporting forums.

As the director and representative Kristina aims to raise quality and standards of traditional archery practice in the UK and bring UK traditional archers on to the global stage by 1) championing inclusion of the UK in international projects and other emerging global federations, 2) seeking out and providing best networking and collaboration opportunities, 3) assisting and supporting projects aimed at preserving and promoting centuries-old British archery traditions on the global stage for all relevant archery groups based in the UK, 4) serving as the liaison between the WTAF and the UK traditional archers.
